« Super location In no particular order - we visited the area to cycle & the location is super. Quiet surroundings. Very clean WC & shower facilities. Reception/customer services outstanding. The swimming pool & sun terracing are 5 star. Restaurant good - that's food & staff. Overall we had a very good experience. »

« The food in the restaurant was very bad. The mussels and the duck breast skewer were cold, as were the vegetables. The only thing warm was the potatoes. Both dishes had identical side dishes that were impossible to choose from. »

« Booked for six nights mid August with our 14 year old son. We got lucky as we had a relatively flat pitch but there’s quite a few that are really quite sloped. I felt the whole place was centred on the pool area which is fine of you have good weather, and overall this area was fine although some of the terracing area could do with some maintenance as some of the facades on the pool area had become unstuck and were flapping about. Unfortunately at the mid point of our stay, the weather turned (which is obviously no fault of the campsite) but there really wasn’t much else to do. Whilst we like the rural-ness of France, there’s nothing within walking distance so you’re pretty limited to what the campsite has to offer and unless you have young children, the entertainment seems to be centred on those. And aside from the pool and pool bar, everything shuts down from late morning to early evening. The site is very hilly, and everything just seems a decent trek away ie if you need the toilet at the pool, there’s one toilet by the pool entrance. The showers are push button type (which I personally don’t like) and in our five nights we never saw one person cleaning them although. There’s also far too many sinks and for the whole site, only two main blocks. Also, the games room is four table football games in a soulless room and there are three table tennis tables in a dimly lit area. We also got battered by mosquitoes! Appreciate I’ve painted a bit of a negative picture. There were positives - it’s really quiet, the pool area, overall is really nice and the staff were all polite. The views across the valley are stunning. But it just lacked any degree of energy or character for us, it was a trek to get anywhere and you’re just too remote IMO. Having frequented quite a few Sandaya and Les Castels five star sites across France, I’m quite surprised this manages to get five stars. We ventured into Carcassone for the day the market was on, but be aware that it’s literally around a dozen stalls selling fruit and veg. The town itself is really nice though. We went on the two hour Canal du Midi boat trip which was decent value at €11 each but it literally took you through an inner city canal (not overly picturesque), stopped at a place after about 15mins which charged me around €12 for a very small beer and two cans of drink and then took us through two locks. Again, not the campsites fault but kinda capped off a bit of a disappointing stay. »

« A lovely site, very clean, good services, very hilly we were at the far side of the site my wife as difficulty walking long way which meant we had to even drive to the pool. Shower were clean and water hot. »
